Same problem. Recently bought a new iMac 21.5 inch, 2017. It was doing well on Catalina. Then upgraded to BigSur and it is the worst experience I ever had in more than 30 years using Mac. Slow as hell. And nobody from Apple has wrote a solution to this issue???
